Nazareth Illit
Nazareth Illit is a city in the north of Israel, in the Lower Galilee, at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level, near the Arab city of Nazareth (Nazareth).
Nazareth Illit was founded in 1956. Then it was called Kiryat-Nazareth. His first residents were immigrants from Eastern Europe.
The status of the city was given to Nazareth Illit in 1974.
In the early 1990s, the city's population doubled, due to repatriates from the CIS countries and residents of neighboring Nazeret who moved here.
